On getting that artista look…

Artista makeup look is very general now. If you want to look like an artista, it can be many things. Celebrities always take care of their skin because they’re always in the public eye—lahat ng mata naka tingin, all the bashers. So, they make it a point that, even without makeup, they try to really maintain their skin; they have that inner glow because they go to their skin doctors or whoever takes care of their skin. Para naman when they’re seen out, kahit walang makeup, maganda parin. That’s one way of looking like an artista: beautiful skin, groomed everything, groomed eyebrows. You can try doing a messy bun for the day or a low bun, always try to look fresh. For me, it’s not really related to makeup anymore. It’s really having that aura na mukha kang artista because you take care of yourself really well, not totally depending on makeup.”

On her favorite makeup look on Julia Barretto…

“I actually like the look that I did for her on the Star Magic Coffee Table Book. That look was just cascaded to us pero I like how she looked so ethereal. Payat niya kasi nun eh, so ang ganda paglaruan her look: Dewy skin with peachy shade of blush that looked like it came from within. Tapos her lips are also peach, but para siyang nag glow lang na peach. She didn’t look like she was wearing makeup at all, but of course she was. It’s a kind of look that not everyone can do. And then almost nude eyeshadow. Kasi the other looks naman nagagawa niya for specific looks. But then, for that specific shoot, ang ganda talaga because she really carried it out really well.”

On her favorite makeup look for Kathryn Bernardo…

“I always like it when she looks natural and bronzy lang. Not too much makeup, just browns and mauves on her lips. Parang ganun lang, not too much, hardly wearing any eyelashes, that’s one of my favorite looks sa kanya because I think that’s where she most looks beautiful. Just satin because it makes her skin glow, her olive skin stands out really beautifully.”
