Where To Next: A Pinoy Obsessed With Hollywood? Live The Dream By Exploring LA!

Whether you’re a movie buff or just someone who enjoys a good film, it is without a doubt that there is no better place to experience all the glitz and glam of Hollywood life than in LA itself! Here are some things you can do to make sure you have your own Hollywood Experience when you visit LA. If you’re in luck, you might even spot a celebrity or two!

1. See what it’s like behind the scenes: go on a studio tour.

Want to know how things go behind the scenes? Take one of the studio tours in L.A. The Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood in Burbank for example, gives you the chance to visit one of the most popular movie studios in the world. If you’re lucky, you can even take a peek inside the stage of one of your favorite shows, provided they’re not actively filming at that time!

If you’re a Potterhead, you’ll enjoy checking out the different props and sets they used for the Harry Potter films. Know how things are made from start to finish and see detailed costumes that they used in the movies.

And if you love FRIENDS, how does visiting the original set of Central Perk from the iconic show sound to you? Yes, you can take selfies at “the couch!”

2. Visit the shooting locations of some of your favorite movies.

If you loved La La Land, make sure you wear your bright yellow dress when you visit Griffith Park and recreate Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling’s famous dance scene. While you’re in the area, drive up to The Griffith Observatory, which also figured prominently in that award-winning film.

Hundreds of other iconic films were also shot in LA. In fact, why don’t you make it a fun treasure hunt and be constantly on the lookout for movie locations? Here are great places to start with: Visit the Bradbury Building as featured in The Artist, Grand Park if you enjoyed 500 Days of Summer or go and see the Los Angeles River, which were featured in movies like Grease, Terminator 2, and Batman: The Dark Knight Rises.

3. Be a guest audience in your favorite sitcom or talk show.

We’ve talked about visiting sets and touring behind the scenes but nothing beats being an audience at one of your favorite shows! You’ll be surprised to find out that you can actually be a guest audience at sitcoms like The Big Bang Theory, talk shows like Jimmy Kimmel, or even game shows like Jeopardy! And here’s the best part: show tickets are all FREE!

Of course, tickets for more popular shows like The Ellen DeGeneres Show are hard to come by so you have to be really quick once they release the dates online!

4. Walk in the footsteps of your favorite stars.

Okay, this one we mean quite literally. The Hollywood Walk of Fame may be notorious for being swamped with tourists but it’s definitely worth a visit if you’ve never been.

Have fun checking out the stars of your favorite celebrities. If you spend some time going around, you might even see the names of some fictional characters (like Mickey Mouse, Kermit the Frog and Bugs Bunny!)

5. Shop where your favorite celebrities shop.

This three-block shopping haven is lined up with high-end shops and has always been a favorite of many Hollywood celebrities. Hop from one luxury store to another and shop (or window shop) to your heart’s content.

6. Catch a movie premiere.

If your timing is great, don’t pass up the chance to attend a film opening in L.A. It’s the perfect chance to go celeb-sighting. You have to arrive early to get a good spot though! Here’s a handy website to visit, which gives a list of details for all upcoming Hollywood movie premieres, red carpet events and even Walk of Fame star unveilings!
