New Best Kept Recipes You’ll Love from Open Kitchen 2

New Best Kept Recipes You’ll Love from Open Kitchen 2

They did it again—weekend food bazaar Open Kitchen: The Best Kept Recipes of the Stars had another jampacked run last September 26 and 27, this time at the TriNoma Activity Center. Spearheaded by The Clean Plate and Project 101 Enterprises, Open Kitchen 2 brought together over 50 celebrity chefs/food entrepreneurs, home-based kitchens, and weekend market food stalls that offer everything, from snacks and pica pica, to main dishes and desserts, making it a one-stop shop for families and barkadas who are looking to try something new.

Besides the usual hits like Aiza Seguerra and Liza Diño’s Adobo in A Jar, JC de Vera’s The Burgery, and Maricar Reyes-Poon’s Choco Liquor Cakes, we discovered new gastronomic delights that would surely make you one happy foodie:

Jean’s Manila's Sumptuous Selection of Pinoy Comfort Food

Actress Jean Garcia doesn’t only have kickass kontrabida skills, she’s also a kitchen whiz. Her caldereta, binagoongan, adobo, mechado, and bopis creations—a preview of the menu available at Jean's Manila, her namesake restaurant located along Roces Avenue, Quezon City—are proof of this. Her flavorful masterpieces sold out on both days.

Twist's Famous Cookies

Life is sweeter with dessert, and even if you have to watch what you eat or you don’t have a sweet tooth, Twist’s Famous Cookies will make you a dessert convert. You can enjoy these Triple Xocolat and Honey Walnut Oats sans the guilt because, yes, they’re made with healthy ingredients.

Concho’s Sisig

Another Pinoy comfort food favorite, sisig has been interpreted in different ways, and one we love is that of Concho’s Home of Sisig Goodness, owned by musician Kean Cipriano. His restaurant is one of the go-to places in Marikina, and his packed and frozen sisig at Open Kitchen 2, a bestseller.

Sevilla & Sons Sausages

Fine, handmade sausages made of premium lean pork—doesn’t that make your mouth water? Even better, Sevilla & Sons has got many different sausage offerings, from classic longganisa and Spanish chorizo to Louisiana beef sausage links and English pork bangers, great for any meal of the day.

The Flourgirl Bakery’s Pastry Delights

Nicole Allyson Uy’s assortment of desserts and pastries are too pretty to be eaten—but they’re also too heavenly so you’d actually rather indulge in them anyway. At the Open Kitchen 2, her Matcha Revel Bars, Hot Chilli Blondies, Green Tea Cream Cake, and other offerings made both kids, yuppies, and mommies happy.

The Cashew Milk Co.’s Concoctions

Yup, you got it—it’s milk made of cashew, a non-dairy alternative—perfect for the lactose intolerant and those who want to lose weight. This new player in the market shows so much promise: Each bottle is as flavorful as milk, and they even have a cookie dough variety.

American Caramel Apples

With sales associates decked in Snow White costumes (in reference to how apples played a pivotal part in the fairytale), how can this booth not capture your attention? Popular among kids and adults alike, these caramel-coated apples come in different flavors.
