NCT is shaking up the K-pop universe with their most ambitious project yet called NCT 2018. Since its conception, SM Entertainment's newest boy group has been regarded for its experimental and risk-taking nature. Between boasting an infinite amount of sub-units and a slew of unique concepts, the group is shaping the future model of the genre.
It's still early in the year, but NCT has gone all out with back-to-back releases–from NCT U's "Boss" and "Baby Don't Stop" to "Go" by NCT Dream. The massive group originally spans 15 members participating in various sub-units such as U, 127, and Dream. Along with the upcoming release of NCT 127's "Touch" this week, the group unveiled three new members to join this year's promotions. Need help keeping up with the now 18-strong NCT? Here's a little info on the three newest kids on the block.
He may be far from being the youngest of the group, but Jungwoo might as well claim the title of NCT's maknae. The newest member is the most adorable addition to the group who willingly does aegyo in a snap. Soft-spoken and shy, the rest of NCT likes to dote on Jungwoo and take care of him. Before debuting, Jungwoo played the male lead in Super Junior Yesung's "Paper Umbrella" music video. Now that he's a part of NCT U, his honey vocals are on full display in their latest track "Boss." Jungwoo's fluffy and flirty personality is sure to make fans go gaga over NCT's newest cutie!
Handsome, charming, and caring, Kun is the perfect boyfriend material. As the oldest of NCT's Chinese members, Kun has taken on the role of mother hen of the group. Being the resident chef of NCT, Kun has often shown his culinary skills when doing livestreams with fans. Kun is also one of the most promising new vocalists of group having lent his sweet voice in the Chinese version of NCT U's "Without You." As idols are always required to have a special individual talent on hand, Kun can also do a mean magic trick. With NCT's Chinese unit in the works to debut later in the year, we surely can't wait to see more of this prince!
Don't be fooled by this boy's model stature and chiseled jaw because Lucas is actually the goofiest of the bunch! The Hong Kong native is loud, expressive, and full of energy. While he is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Thai, Lucas' Korean is still a bit wonky but him stumbling a few times with the language makies him all the more adorable! Before debuting, Lucas made a cameo in Ten's "Dream in a Dream" music video. Taking the role of rapper, the new member has the most swoon-worthy voice as shown in his deep register "Boss." Another fun fact: Lucas also does the funniest Justin Bieber impersonation! With his bright candid personality and fierce onstage persona, Lucas is the perfect example of reverse charms.
NCT is only getting bigger and better this year, so it's not too late to hop on the bandwagon. With 18 members of varying quirks and personalities, deciding on the right bias to stan is a challenge more than ever. Who's yours?
