Hot Stuff: This Year's Ad Summit Will Break Down What 'ROI' Is Really All About

Between March 7-10 at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center, the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies (4As) will once again host the country’s largest biennial event in marketing and advertising: Ad Summit Pilipinas 2018.

This year’s theme focuses on ROI, which in corporate speak, stands for Return On Investment. A concept often associated with money, describes it as “the most common profitability ratio” that “evaluates the performance of a business by dividing net profit by net worth.”

But in the past year, advertisers have rolled out campaigns that challenge the way we think about ROI. They may not have exactly or immediately earned more than what they spent in executing them, but they created lasting impressions on their target that are just as valuable as any sales or revenue equivalent.

This is what Ad Summit 2018 is all about. The four-day event encourages a new, do-it-yourself approach towards ROI—to customize it’s meaning in a way that disrupts marketing communication and benefits all parties involved: brands, agencies, media, and of course, the people that the aforementioned intend to reach.

Seven speakers, both local and international, will provide insight on what made their creative campaigns a success. Ad Summit Pilipinas will also hold the Creative Guild's Kidlat Awards, the most prestigious creative advertising competition in the Philippines.

Interested participants may contact the 4A’s secretariat at 813-4397 or 893-1205, or e-mail: Registration may also be done through the summit’s official page (
