Hot Stuff: Expect Another Amazing Weekend At The Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta!

A source of many #feedgoals-worthy content and the venue for friends and lovers for some spontaneous quality bonding sesh as it’s near the metro, the much-anticipated, annual Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta (PIHABF) is set to happen this February 8-11 at the the Omni Aviation Complex in Clark, Pampanga.

This year’s PIHABF will witness 26 celestial balloons from all over the world, making your weekend mornings yet another sight to behold. These include the new ones—Happy Heart, Matryoshka Russian Doll, Queen’s Guard, Giant Strawberry, Buddy Balloon, Captain Jack, Princess Nellie, Vostok Balloon, Master Yoda, Morris the Donkey, Bruno the Clown and Pepe the Hedgehog.

The balloon watching follows flying activities, including paragliding, skydiving, aerobatic exhibitions, formation flights, balloon bursting competitions, and kite flying. (Interested to take on these? Check out the event’s official page pronto to register!)

Another highlight is the world-renowned Aerosuperbatics Wingwalkers, “the world’s only aerobatic formation wingwalking team,” performing for the first time in the country. That said, expect an intense and exhilarating show full of loops, stall turns, inverted flights, and more!

A more wholesome set of activities includes supercar drifting exhibitions with airplanes dropping flour bombs overhead, drone racing, RC control line flying exhibitions, horseback riding, archery, camel-riding, and animal feeding. It’s not called a “fiesta” without the food haunt and shopping at the Fly Market, and international and Kapamilya musical acts enchanting the One World Music Cultural Exchange Concert stage.

With a mission of gathering pilots from everywhere to appreciate the Philippines’ richness in all forms, the PIHABF is the longest-running sports aviation event in Asia. Book your entrance tickets (P500 each) through the event’s website, Ticketnet outlets, or at the event gates, and you contribute a percentage of it to the PIHABF Foundation Scholarship Fund. The foundation grants scholarships to underprivileged students aspiring for a career in aviation.
