Hey Party Girl, It's Time You Clean Up Your Act and Save Your Skin

Hey Party Girl, It's Time You Clean Up Your Act and Save Your Skin

The Problem Junk food

The Fix “When eaten in large amounts, junk foods heavy in sugar and salt can increase the production of hormones,” dermatologist Issa Cellona shares. “This causes the overproduction of sebum in the skin, which results in acne.” Go on a quick detox to get back on track. Get your dose of fresh fruits to help bring back radiance to your skin.

The Problem Lack of sleep

The Fix It’s not just called beauty sleep for nothing. “When you don’t get enough sleep, the body produces a hormone called cortisol, which isn’t good for your skin,” Dr. Cellona explains. If you find yourself at all-nighters—whether studying or partying—add a boost to the sleep that you do get by using an effective night cream and eye cream.

The Problem Stress

The Fix Any imbalance in your hormones will cause several skin issues, so stress is another reason they get thrown off-kilter. That’s why it’s important to find time to relax. You can get a massage, go on a movie marathon, or read a book at home. You can also pop some iron vitamins to help battle your stress.

The Problem Bad booze

The Fix Alcohol leaves you dehydrated, leaving your skin dull. Make sure to down a glass of water whenever you drink. “You can also use a daily moisturizer rich in hyaluronic glycerin or sorbitol,” Dr. Cellona says. “These will help rehydrate your skin.”
