What Happens When All of the World's Best Masters of Balance Unite?

Saturday, September 26th, marked the 8th year of the Global Mala Project in Manila. It is one of the biggest gatherings of yogis and yoginis in the country.

Over 40 yoga classes and talks followed across four rooms (Lunar, Solar, Vata and Prana).

The event opened with their version of 108 Sun Salutations in line with the Global Mala Project’s purpose to unite the global yoga community from every continent to form a “mala around the earth” through collective practices based upon the sacred cycle of 108. It was performed in a circle with the four teachers staying at the middle. This was done to invoke positive energy throughout the practice.

108 was no easy task to complete, but with the combined energies of everyone involved we managed to complete it in less than the allotted two and a half hours. Well done, yogis and yoginis!

Afternoon sessions were filled with more yoga classes (Kids Yoga included!), exciting activities like drumming and poi, capoeira and different kinds of talks.

Visiting yogini, Cristi Christensen, had her Gateway to Freedom: Core Awakening Flow Yoga class late in the afternoon, which ended up in a party-like atmosphere where everyone danced their way to positive vibrations.

It was a fun-filled day full of positive energy and good vibes. Until next Global Mala Project Manila event. Namaste.
