Star Magic has undoubtedly produced many of the brightest celebrities to ever grace both our television sets and the big screen. The star factory managed to launch names like Daniel Padilla and Liza Soberano to the celebrity A-list and continues to work its magic with its newer, fresher batch of talents.
We have no doubt that up-and-coming sweetheart Chantal Videla will also be blessed with a spot on the A-list when the time comes. After all, it’s hard not to be blown away by her pristinely radiant beauty and charming personality.
At the age of 10, Chantal already had a taste of the spotlight as a young model for SM Kids and was discovered by an agent who later advised her to join Star Magic. “I was hoping na matanggap po ako kasi Star Magic po 'yun, and sobrang dami pong mabubuksan na opportunities,” she shared. “Then, natanggap ako and nag-start ako magkaroon ng commercials and doon ko na-realize na ang sarap pala maging artista.”
Chantal was particularly fond of modeling as she practically lit up while enumerating everything she loved about it. Apparently, the 15-year-old starlet enjoys being dolled up by makeup artists and stylists and generally loves the camera (which is perfect because the camera obviously loves her, too!)
We asked who initially inspired her to aim for stardom and it didn’t take more than two seconds for her to answer. “Before po kasi, ang idol ko talaga si Talia. Siya po talaga yung gusto kong gayahin,” Chantal said. Her admiration for the Spanish actress stems from the fact that Chantal herself is of Spanish descent.
However, as of late, the young star has taken a liking to globally recognized beauty Liza Soberano. She even posts photos of her idol on her Instagram account regularly. When we asked what it was about the upcoming Darna actress she loved, Chantal answered, “Of course, yung beauty niya. Gusto ko rin po maging parang si Liza na humble, at dahil doon kaya sobrang successful niya.”
Her fondness for the soft-spoken actress made a lot of sense considering Chantal had a similar personality to Liza. Of course, it made even more sense that Chantal would rather play the underdog who can cry on cue than a cruel antagonist. "Hindi ko po kasi kaya yung nagagalit. Pag nagagalit po ako sa totoong buhay, parang di ko po kaya ilabas talaga so parang mas gusto ko yung inaapi ako," she shared with her endearing innocence.
Chantal may only be 15 years old, but Liza was only 16 when she landed her first lead role in the romantic drama Forevermore with Enrique Gil and skyrocketed into the frontline of show business. With Chantal's promising potential, she is ready to make headlines, and we're totally calling it!
