Movies offer you a wide array of characters to admire—from the classy and sassy queen bees to the quiet and mysterious new guy in school. More often than not, however, we tend to resonate more with the outcasts and the awkward characters simply because they share many of our daily life struggles. And, even though we now live in a world where you don't have to apologize for being socially unfit, it's still good to know we have characters like these to relate to.
From Justice League's Barry Allen to Pitch Perfect's Fat Amy, check out these movie characters who are 100% just like us!
1. The Flash from Justice League
Bluntess and bad timing can be a dangerous combination in real life, but somehow Barry Allen A.K.A. The Flash makes it work. The fastest man alive not only provided us with a lot of comic relief throughout the Justice League film, he also made us whisper "me" or "same" in a lot of scenes.
2. Peter Parker from Spider-Man: Homecoming
Peter Parker or Spider-Man is a loveable hybrid of eager and awkward. Given his quest to gain a parental figure's approval while establishing a sense of belongingness, our favorite web-slinger might as well be portayed by any awkward teenager.
3. Lilo from Lilo & Stitch
There's a tiny brat deep inside all of us that helps us understand Lilo's tantrums and impulsive behavior. Although her unfiltered personality can be chalked up to the charming innocence and unfettered honesty of a young child, there's no denying that Lilo is the ultimate personification of our inner pettiness.
4. Fat Amy from Pitch Perfect
A lot of us have been backstabbed, called names, and labelled unjustly. We all have a choice on how to deal: either rise above the prejudice or simply embrace it. While we all may not have Fat Amy's quick-to-quip wittiness, a lot of us have owned our very own self-deprecating labels with style and attitude, just like her!
5. Mia Thermopolis from The Princess Diaries
Before she became the sophisticated and empowered Princess of Genovia, Mia Thermopolis was once a clumsy mess, awkwardly fumbling through life. All she ever wanted was to be invisible: to blend in the background and get by without anyone on her case. Sounds familiar?
6. Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter
Individuality is one thing. The confidence to stand apart from the crowd? That's a whole different ballgame. Luna Lovegood is weird and she knows it. But, she never did anything to remedy the sitch because there's nothing wrong with embracing your inner quirks in the first place!
If there's one thing we learned from these people, it's that no matter how big an awkward weirdo you are, there are always going to be people who will love you for you. Here's to us awkward potatoes!
