Remember the high school students who rallied against the Duterte administration last July, just days before the President's State of the Nation Address? One of the bold students was 14-year-old Shibby de Guzman, a ninth grader from St. Scholastica's College, who has apparently caught global attention as she is included in TIME Magaizne's 'The 30 Most Influential Teens of 2017' list.
Aside from parading the streets with a megaphone while wearing a sign that says "Lahat tayo posibleng drug pusher," Shibby further made an impact by slamming one of the critics who, on a social media post, said that the students were "brainwashed" into rallying. She replied, "Please do not underestimate the youth. We completely know and understand the injustice we are protesting against." Now, that's a young voice we should all listen and look up to!
Alongside Shibby, our very own Bretman Rock, a social media sensation, also made it to the list. Other international names such as Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, actress Elle Fanning, model Kaia Gerber, and singer Shawn Mendes made the cut as well.
