Unless you’ve been living under a pop culture rock the last weekend, chances are, you’d know exactly what went down in the Circuit Concert Grounds in Makati last Saturday, 28 October 2017.
Fueled by eclectic sounds, dazzling visuals and an unabating energy, hoards of people came, saw, and caroused their hearts out to all the best K-Pop musical offerings. From the rockin' sensibilities of N.Flying's The Real to the bouncy rhythms of Cosmic Girls' hit Catch me to the cool swagger of NCT 127's Cherry Bomb, Manila definitely got massive doses of their K-Pop fix.
Much has been said about the pop music factory that is South Korea. But, one thing is for certain: the astounding success of the concert proves that K-pop continues to be a genre that cuts through language barriers and geographical borders to remain a juggernaut in the music industry. Will the K-Pop sensation recede over time? Not in the near future at least.
