Lately, it's been getting a lot harder to avoid heartbreaking news on TV, radio, and the Internet. A lot of people, perhaps including you, have started to question (if not already lost) their faith in humanity.
But we refuse to accept that this is what our world has come to. There is still good in this world and here's how we can help each other realize it even through the smallest of things!
1. Throw your trash properly.
Be the change you want to see in the world. You can literally save our planet by at least knowing how to properly dispose your trash and setting a good example for other people.
2. Be considerate of others.
Move if you hear someone say, "Excuse me". Hold the door open for anyone who has their hands full. Help another passenger by passing their pamasahe to the driver. Even if they are strangers, there's no reason that you can't make their life the least bit easier.
3. Let your friends know you love them.
You never know which of your friends are going through a rough time and need words of reassurance. Call them or send them a message to tell them how much you love them. That one message may save a life.
4. Say, "Please" and "Thank you."
Use the word "Please" when asking someone for a favor whether or not it may cause them any inconvenience, and acknowledge their effort by saying "Thank you". Not only can it make other people's day, but it can also remind them of good manners.
Even the smallest smiles can do amazing wonders. Employees can get cranky after several hours on the job. Smiling politely at the nameless faces you see every day in school or while on the job can turn their whole day around.
Small rocks can still make waves. We all want to leave our marks in this world and that may seem impossible right now but even saints and heroes started by doing something small. You can, too.
