As we all know, there is no express way to success. Nothing in life is just handed over on a silver platter, especially when one is talking about honor and excellence. In a time when almost everything is acquired in an instant, some millennials tend to easily fall into the pit of mediocrity because they lack the perseverance to wait and the motivation to keep hustling in order to improve their craft. However, these Escolarians prove that millennials can work hard and become great achievers, too!
Centro Escolar University (CEU) has proven once again its ability to produce bright and outstanding students with the latest achievements accomplished by Escolarians. One of it was the crowning of their alumna, Kristel Guelos, as the Binibining Pilipinas 2017 2nd Runner-Up. The 25-year-old beauty queen is a graduate of Doctor of Dental Medicine in CEU, class of 2014.
The Binibini candidate was asked the question, “Hidilyn Diaz, an olympic silver medalist, exemplifies the physical strength of the Filipina. What kind of strength as a Filipina can you show to the universe?”
She won the hearts of the judges and the crowd as she responded, “As a medical practitioner and as a Binibining Pilipinas candidate, I can show the universe the dedication and passion I have right now. And that is what I can share with others to become an influence of goodwill and to motivate others to become the best version of themselves.”
Aside from Guelos, these five Escolarians from CEU's School of Dentistry dominated the May 2017 Dentist Licensure Examination and brought great pride to their school as they proved once again that CEU is the home of dentistry board topnotchers.
Leading the Top 10 list is Alexa Eline Tajud with 86.04% and landing on the third spot is Francisco Beria, Jr. with 84.34%, followed by fourth placer Sandi Santiago with 84.20%. Meanwhile, Noni Gallenito placed fifth garnering an average of 83.17% and Maria Jasmin Evangelista, seventh place with 83%.
Dentistry topnotcher Alexa revealed that being a dentist was her childhood dream, and her mother, who is also a dentist, was the one who inspired her to become one. She also shared her advice to all who aspire on passing the board and becoming a licensed dentist: “Maniwala ka sa sarili mo na kaya mo. Kasi, usually, iisipin mo na hindi mo kayang aralin kung galing ka sa pag-pa-pa-practical. Kasi mawawala talaga ‘yung study habits mo. Medyo ma-o-off track ka ‘pag nag-practical ka na, pero dapat maniwala ka na kaya mong balikan ‘yon pag mag-bo-board exam na. Basta, syempre, always pray,” she says.
These inspiring students show that we can always reach our dreams as long as we work hard enough to achieve them. Kudos to these outstanding Escolarians for making their alma mater proud!
