We rave about his buff body in “Pasion de Amor”, so now let’s get to know some of his trade secrets.
Yes, we are referring to Ejay Falcon, who is one of the three leading men (the other two being Joseph Marco and Jake Cuenca) starring at”Pasion de Amor”, which earned the monicker “Abs-Serye” because of their buff bodies. While everyone, especially the girls, are in awe with their well-chiseled bodies on-screen, ABS-CBN Lifestyle had a quick chat with Ejay to know more about maintaining his body.
On his top workouts: Ejay notes that these days, he focuses more on his core and lower body with his workouts, as these are the more difficult parts of the body to tone. “Hindi na ako masyado nagbubuhat pagdating sa upper body kasi medyo lumalaki ako,” he said.
“Dun ako nakafocus kasi yun ang pinakamahirap [i-work out],” Ejay emphasized on why he is focusing more on lower body and core exercises these days.
So what are his top workouts? They are basketball ("number 1 yun,” Ejay said), boxing, jogging, ab roller (which co-star Jake taught him in focusing with his core, especially his abs), and leg raises. Yes, all five does give focus on toning the core and lower body.
Yes, Ejay loves boxing and basketball so much.
On the food he eats: Though two years ago Ejay tried doing the kamote diet, he notes that he has no specific diet in mind in keeping fit. However, Ejay strongly advocates for red rice as part of his diet. “Red rice lang ako; kahit anong ulam ok na ako,” he said.
Red rice is an unhulled or partially hulled rice that has a nutty flavor, and high nutritional value just like brown rice. Its color comes from an antioxidant called anthocyanins, which is known to reduce inflammation, allergies, cancer risks, and helps with weight management.
“Actually parang hindi nga siya diet; mas focused ako sa healthy lifestyle,” Ejay added.
