Contouring helps define the shape of the face and body to make our features look bigger or smaller. In fact, according to Beau Nelson, Kristen Stewart’s long-time makeup artist, ”Contouring is giving shape to an area of the face and enhancing the facial structure through makeup." He also said that the real trick lies in keeping your contour look subtle and unnoticeable.
Centuries ago, contouring was only done by stage actors to help the audience see their facial expressions. They used soot, chalk, or greasepaint to contour, and makeup can only be purchased in costume stores. Fast forward to the second millennium, it has become one of the biggest trends in beauty. It's in every makeup junkie's routine, and we're pretty sure you've tried it, too.
Not only did contouring find its way into every girl's life, but it has also provided a sexier take on enhancing our looks through makeup. If you don't know how to contour yet, here's Anne Curtis to teach you...
