Satchmi showcases passion for vinyl, OPM music

Vinyl and OPM? Why not!

Third time’s the charm indeed.

Now on its third year, Satchmi held its annual Vinyl Day, where vinyl lovers got to browse through crates of discounted vinyl records containing various genres from classical to pop. In addition to record hunting, this year’s Vinyl day is highlighted by 12 Filipino artists performing at the stage of Fort Bonifacio’s Ampitheater.

Among those who performed included The Cohens, Ourselves the Elves, Tandems ’91, Jensen and the Flips, BP Valenzuela, Ang Bandang Shirley, Autotelic, Imago, O, Flamingo!, The Diegos, Cheats, and headliner Pedicab.

With an audience reaching at least a thousand, everyone enjoyed the diverse music provided by the performers, proving that Original Pinoy Music (OPM) has evolved to adapt with other genres like electronica, funk, and soul.

Here's Autotelic performing.

Satchmi’s celebration of vinyl and OPM continued through Record Store Week, which happened from April 13 to April 18 at their store in the fourth floor of SM Megamall’s Fashion Mall.

Aligning with their dedication to the medium, Satchmi also launched its first-ever vinyl record, entitled “Fresh Filter Vol. 1” on May 22 at their store in SM Megamall’s Fashion Mall.

“Fresh Filter Vol. 1” contained songs from Autotelic, BP Valenzuela, Cheats, Flying Ipis, Yolanda Moon, Bullet Dumas, A Problem like Maria, Library Kids, Moonwlk, Ourselves the Elves, Tandems ’91, and the Ransom Collective.
