JEFRE (real name: Jefre Manuel Figueras) is a U.S.-born Filipino artist who is now considered one of the top landscape architects in the world. Passionate about art since childhood, he briefly attended Art Institute of Chicago, until deciding to transfer to Ohio State University to pursue a more "practical" degree in Landscape Architecture. The shift proved fruitful, as it gave him many high-profile clients. But after suffering a heart attack at age 35, he pursued art once more and has not looked back since. Now with his own firm (StudioJEFRE), he has literally made a name for himself with his environmental art, green roofs, boutique plazas and parks, and public art master plans—all of which are reflective of his deep appreciation for historical, environmental, social, and contextual design.

This summer, MUJI is all about linen fabric because of its soft and airy feel on skin. Using flax fibers from the northwest of France, MUJI linen is designed to be highly absorbent, quick-drying, and breathable. These linens pieces—ranging from button down shirts to dresses—were subject to minimal washing and treatment to better highlight their natural texture. Yet the fibers are strong enough to keep clothes looking the same after every wash. What’s more, they come with UV protection. For more details, visit their Facebook or follow them on Instagram. You can also drop by any of their branches at C1 Bonifacio High Street Central, Greenbelt 3, Power Plant Mall at Rockwell, and Shangri-La Plaza East Wing.

What if you could earn money back as you shop online? With ShopBack, you can do just that! Since launching last year, the Philippine franchise of this platform has been offering rebates called “cashbacks,” which return up to 30% of what shoppers pay for items or services (on top of any discount an online store has going). It’s made possible through commissions from their 350+ partner merchants, which include Lazada, ZALORA, eBay, GrabCar, and GrabShare. Once shoppers accumulate a certain amount of cashback, it gets deposited either to their bank, GCash or PayPal account which they can withdraw or use for future purchases. Visit the ShopBack website for more info.
