Whether you're a hardcore theater geek or simply a fan of plays and musical, then you shouldn't miss out on Sister Act! The critically acclaimed musical-comedy show is a recreation of the hit 1992 Whoopi Goldberg starrer film of the same name (remember that notoriously catchy "I Will Follow Him?"), but the Broadway version has an all-original score, script, and spectacular production design.
Get ready for two and a half hours of non-stop laughter and music as we watch live on stage the adventures of Deloris Van Cartier (played by opera singer Dené Hill), a diva wannabe who witnesses a crime and is forced by the cops to hide in a place where bad guys won't come looking for her—in a convent! A suspicious Mother Superior watches over her, but pretty soon she wins her and the rest of her fellow sisters over by helping them find their voice. And, in the process, she rediscovers her own voice, too!
Sister Act features original music and score with a "big Broadway sound" written by acclaimed composer and eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (who is most known for his work in Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, and Little Shop of Horrors), and lyrics by Glenn Slater. It's received four Olivier Award nominations in 2010, and five Tony nominations in 2011, both including Best Musical, making it a must-see for everyone who appreciates musical theater!
Sister Act premieres on June 27, 2017 at The Theatre at Solaire in Paranaque City and will have a limited two-week run until July 9, 2017. Definitely no extensions! So don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity and let Deloirs take us to church!
Produced by Ovation Productions in cooperation with Broadway Entertainment Group, and Troika. Tickets at P6500, 5500, 4500, 3500, 1500 available online at TicketWorld or call (02) 981-9999.
