In a generation that sees "work-life balance" as a luxury, these millenial moms are busy doing their thing without feeling the need to stop and think of anything but living their lives as best they can. While many of us have seen them rock being single, it's still surreal to see their miniature versions today as they start building their own families. Not only have these women become mothers, they've turned into moms that we can all learn a thing or two from. (For future reference, ofc!) As we wrap up our Mother's Day series of features, here are some of the millenial moms we look up to the most!
1. Andi Manzano-Reyes
"Motherhood just unleashes a new kind of strength. Not many may know but I'm a hands-on mom and for the most part it's really just me, and I wouldn’t have it any other way," Andi once shared in a Facebook post. While the former Magic 89.9 radio jock can employ a yaya for Olivia, she refuses to do so. From feeding and bathing Baby O to picking her up from school, Andi has always said that she wants to witness little Oli's milestones and be there for her every step of the way.
Just last month, Andi also won the Top Parenting Influencer at the Influence Asia Awards held in Kuala Lumpur—and people who know or follow this extremely dedicated mom will agree that it's a well-deserved win!
2. Ava Te-Zabat
Being a mom is not an easy task, but the responsibility seems even more daunting when you start to have kids at 19. This lifestyle blogger felt like hitting rock bottom after she dicovered she's pregnant with her first child after high school, but being the brave fighter that she is helped her turn a deaf ear to people's judgments. She didn't let them break her down. Instead, she chose to focus on achieving her dreams–and that she did.
Aside from her success as a freelance stylist and her growing lifestyle blog, she just graduated with a degree in Export Management last March. The fact that she did all of this while taking the role of a loving mom just inspires us on a whole new level. We're not the only ones, too. Ava was recently honored as a PayMaya ambassador for being an awesome millennial mom! Kudos!
3. Toni Gonzaga-Soriano
For Toni, becoming a mother is the "most beautiful change" that ever happened to her life. "Now, I wake up every morning with a new purpose, a new meaning," she says in an interview with ABS-CBN. "I live not just for myself, but for someone else. The reason for my existence has changed." Toni also refuses to believe that being a mother and having a career is impossible, because for her, it's just a matter of "learning to find the beauty in balancing both." Sigh. Isn't she just #MommyGoals?!
4. Blake Lively
In an interview with The LA Times, the former Gossip Girl star shared how her daughter's mood swings and poopy tendencies take a lot of patience. However, despite all the hard work that comes with motherhood, Blake finds having babies "addictive," and she's certainly considering having more!
We have no doubt that she's going to be an awesome mom no matter how many kids she has with beau Ryan Reynolds—the way Ryan speaks of her just confirms to us how great a mother and wife Blake is. With this gorgeous couple's beautiful genes, we can't wait to see more adorable babies in the future!
For the 29-year-old hitmaker, motherhood hasn't been an easy path. She struggled with trying to balance work and family due to her post-partum depression. "In my pregnancy and through becoming a mother, I lost a lot of myself. And I’ve struggled, and I still do struggle being a mom. It’s really hard," the singer said during an acceptance speech at the 2017 Grammys.
But as much as motherhood left Adele lost for quite some time, becoming a mom was also the same thing that made her get back up and return to recording new songs. "When I had my son, it made everything all right, and I trusted everything because the world had given me this miracle, you know? So I became a bit of a hippie, an Earth mother," she said in an interview in The Today Show. And we couldn't be any happier to see Adele recovering from PPD!
With their cute, matchy-matchy outfits and awesome travel adventures together, Queen Bey and her daughter Blue Ivy prove to be one of the cutest mother-daughter pairs in Hollywood! More than the fabulous celeb life, the cutest thing about these two is still the special bond they share and the fact that Beyoncé only wants what's best for Blue. "I just want my child to be happy and healthy and have the opportunity to realize her dreams," she says in an interview with Elle. Plus, with twins on the way, we can't wait to see how Queen Bey will run the world...err, household!
It's not an easy task juggling motherhood and career while living under the public eye, but we admire how these millennial moms manage to show grace under pressure despite everything. It just shows us that nothing—even the toughest of all trials—can diminish the love of a mother for her children.
