The Six Fix: 6 Disney Movies We Can't Wait To Watch In 2018 And Beyond

It's hard not to love Disney films—even now that we're in our teens or twenteens, every flick has its own way of reminding us of our childhood and all the simple joys and pure innocence that come with it. No matter how old we are or we get, we still get stoked for live-action adaptations of our beloved Disney classics!

With the recent success of Beauty and the Beast, we're already dying to know what other surprises they have in store for us! We went ahead and spoiled ourselves with a round-up of upcoming Disney films we know ourselves we can't be missing!

1. Cruella.

We are sooo excited to see Emma Stone don a furcoat and rock color-blocked hair! She'll be playing 101 Dalmatians' memorable villainess, Cruella de Vil, in Disney's upcoming film Cruella. The casting news was officially announced by the studio last April, and although there's no production schedule and official release date yet, we're pretty sure that it will be worth the wait. Don't you think Emma is so perf for the role?

2. Toy Story 4

90s kids rejoice! Toy Story isn't done with the franchise just yet—they plan to release a fourth installment by June 2019. Booyah! The film will revolve around the love story of Woody and Bo Beep, and while we can't wait to see more of their romance, we're also looking forward to how Disney Pixar will keep things fresh for those who grew up watching the franchise, and for those who are new to the movie. Either way, we're already dying to see how it'll turn out!

3. The Lion King

Our hearts leapt for joy when we heard that there will be a live-action remake of this timeless classic (btw, the musical is coming to town, too!), and knowing that the adaptation will be under the direction of Jon Favreau, the same guy responsible for the huge success of The Jungle Book live adaptation, makes us anticipate the movie even more! Cross-fingers Favreau won't let us down with this one, too!

4. Mary Poppins Returns

If you're an old soul who was captivated by Walt Disney's Mary Poppins, brace yourself because the super talented and gorgeous Emily Blunt is bringing the beloved nanny back in this  highly anticipated sequel! She takes over the role that the legendary Julie Andrews brought to life in 1964, the quirky heroine who embarks on a magical journey with the two children she has come to look after at the first film's ending. Mary Poppins Returns is set to premiere on December 25, 2018—a Merry Christmas, indeed!

5. Frozen 2

We're not ready to "let it go" just yet, and last month, Disney announced that Frozen 2 will be released on November 27, 2019, a day after Thanksgiving! (Looks like we'll have something to be extra thankful for that year!) And while the sequel's plot is top secret, it's been confirmed that Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell and Josh Gad will reprise their roles as Elsa, Anna and Olaf, respectively. Can it be 2019 already? We're. so. excited!

6. The Incredibles

After a long, long wait (14 years to be exact), The Incredibles 2 is finally happening! Although we still can't be sure when exactly we'll see the finished product (the latest release date is slated for Summer 2018), one thing's for sure: Director Brad Bird says it's going to be much, much diffeent than the original. But who cares? 90s kids who grew up with The Incredibles will be ecstatic!

Which film are you most excited about? And which one do you think will be Disney's next smash hit? We'd love to hear what you think, so let us know in the comments below.
