He could’ve chosen a glitzier way of life—that where he’s the one being fawned upon—yet Kito Zialcita opted to tread a path where he can be of service to others. He would’ve thrived as a full-time influencer, model, or sports celebrity, but today he spends his days helping people walk towards financial wellness. That’s impressive, considering most people his age care more about being #feedgoals than being financially independent.
This choice of his makes him a winner in our book; a millennial who’s proof that this generation isn’t exactly all self-entitled. Read on to learn more about the former DLSU Varsity Swim Team captain-turned-financial advisor…
How millennial are you and why?
"Being born in 1993 makes me definitely a millennial. I live my life by the saying 'YOLO! You Only Live Once!' But with a powerful mission to helping people prosper."
How do you counter the myth about millennials being too entitled?
"You cant really disagree that we Millenials feel a sense of entitlement. It's not a myth, it's for real. But I can't say that it's all entitlement because I do put in a decent amount of work to earn a living that means working 5 days a week, 5 hours a day."
How did you get started with using social IG in your projects/advocacies?
"I found it very useful in the field that I have chosen, it helps me reach out to more people... that's what really got me into social media especially IG and Facebook."
As a millennial, we’re feeling you still want to have more in life. What else do you dream of doing in the future despite juggling a lot of stuff now?
"I wanna see the world and enjoy being single."
How meticulous are you with your posts? Describe your process.
"I am very meticulous! First, I choose the picture where I feel i look good. (Laughs) Once I have chosen the photo, I ask my good friend who is a photo editor to make the photo look better or if I can do it myself then I'll edit it myself. After that, I have to think of a catchy phrase to make people like my post not just for the photo but for the caption as well. I do not also post at any time, I wait for peak hours to get maximum exposure haha. What I believe is, Mondays to Fridays 8PM, Saturdays 10AM to 2PM, 8PM, and on Sundays any time of the day. "
What was your greatest social media/ online moment like?
"My greatest social media moment was way back in my senior year in college when I won my elusive individual Medal in the UAAP swimming championships. It did not just have a good number of likes but a numerous amount of comments as well."
What do you think is your most ‘exciting’ post? Which one receives the most likes?
"Posts that involve achievements are the ones that normally get the highest number of likes."
If you were to create your own hashtag, what would that be and why?
"If I were to create my own hashtag, it would be #KitSpiration. (Laughs). That's because I, Kito, want to be an inspiration to people of my generation."
What are your mid-summer plans?
"I'm going to Coron for the first time this summer! I'm so excited!"
Any dream destination and why?
"Dream destination is Florence, Italy which happens to be also the destination of the Incentive Trip of Manulife so currently working on that."
Ideal summer escapade and why?
"My ideal summer escapade is really just relaxing far away from busy Manila. May it be a beach, a mountain, a river, a waterfall, anywhere out of the city with good company and music."
Ideal summer date and why?
"My ideal summer date is pretty simple, a road trip to a really private beach where we can BBQ, tent out and picnic the whole day then leave in the afternoon to a cliff (haven't found that perfect cliff yet, though) overlooking the sea to watch the beautiful sunset with very relaxing music. Syempre yung may akbay na special someone para mas romantic. (Laughs)"
How do you maintain your bod during the summer?
"As much as possible, I try to put in a day's workout five days a week."
"I recently enrolled in CrossFit so I guess that's my new favorite workout."
Most recommended diet?
"Personally I don't really diet and that is what motivates me to work out more to maintain my physique."
Your most effective gwapo trick?
"To be a gentleman at all times and to always remember to smile."
Your most effective trick to get the girl?
"To try and make her the best version of herself at the same time appreciating and noticing the small things only you can see in that girl to make her feel special."
