Hot Stuff: 10 Artists We Wish To Hear New Music From This 2017

By Miggy Gimena and Joelle Theresa Ngo

Music is everybody's cup of tea—(or coffee if you don't drink tea, heh). It's for everyone, and it's a language on its own. And whatever genre you listen to, you'll always feel an ache, a hunger whenever your faves fail to release new music—and the waiting game drives you up the wall. Yas, gurl, we feel you!

To satiate all our longing, we've rounded up a list of artists we can't wait to hear new music from—hopefully, they release new music, STAT!

1. Taylor Swift

It's been almost three years since Taylor released her 1989 album. And aside from her collab with Zayn Malik, "I Don't Wanna Live Forever," for the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack, there hasn’t been much news about any upcoming music. Although, her BFF, Ed Sheeran, did seem to slip the release date of TayTay's new album in an interview! If what he says is true, then we just can’t wait for Christmas because she might just drop an album around that time!

2. Justin Timberlake

After his hit single “Can't Stop the Feeling" last year, fans expected his new album to be released soon after, but apparently JT has other plans that has yet to disclose. While he revealed last year that he is working on a new album, he also said that he'll "put it out when it's done, and when it feels right." Gosh, can he stop teasing his fans and just give us the new album already?

3. The Script

Don’t you miss hearing Danny O’ Donoghue’s soft and soothing voice on the radio? Because we do! The band has been laying low since their No Sound Without Silence album back in 2014, but after seeing Danny’s Instagram posts, it seems like the Irish trio is back in the studio working on some new music. No doubt it's going to be an eargasm just like their previous albums!

4. P!nk

As much as we’re craving for new music from Pink, we’re also so happy that she’s currently enjoying motherhood with the arrival of her newborn baby! No one actually has a clue what she's doing musically, so we'll just enjoy her latest hit “Just Like Fire" while we stalk her Instagram for clues about her next album.

5. Lifehouse

It's been two years since the band released their latest album Out of the Wasteland, and the waiting game has intensified our craving for new Lifehouse music! It doesn't help that the band’s latest IG post telling us about a “surprise” made our our hearts skip a beat—we can’t help but smell a new album that’s about to be announced!

6. Arctic Monkeys

Are they still in hiatus? It was late last year when news spread that Arctic Monkeys has been going in and out of studio for their new album. But It's been four years since Arctic Monkey's last album, AM. We hope that they release something soon—a new single, OST, anything! We're thirsty AF!

7. Carly Rae Jepsen

After Carly Rae Jepsen's critically acclaimed third studio album, E•MO•TION—that gave us songs with an '80s vibe like "All That," "Run Away with Me," titular track "Emotion," and smash hit "I Really Like You"she went radio silent on us. And we've been fighting each passing day to live 'til the release day of CRJ#4. Come back already, Carly!

8. Troye Sivan

This YouTuber-turned-pop star surprised everyone by how well he writes his own songs—and now, we can't get enough of it! Definite faves from his Blue Neighbourhood album are "Youth," "Fools," "Bite," and "Wild." When he does release a new album, we hope there'll be more songs like "Heaven." It's just so good!

9. Christina Perri

She rose to fame when her song "Jar of Hearts" was featured in the hit dancing reality show So You Think You Can Dance? in 2011and she hasn't stopped giving us timeless love songs since then. But for the past couple of years, we've been wanting to put up "Where is Christina Perri?" posters because since her 2014 album, Head or Heart, it's like she's dropped off the face of the earth—song wise, anyway. We miss you, Christina Perri!

10. The National

If you're into songs with really good lyrics, then you definitely miss The National with Matt Berninger's deep rich vocals. It's been four years since they released their Trouble Will Find Me album that featured some The National faves like "Pink Rabbits" and "Don't Swallow The Cap." Music news sites have said that they've been working hard on their seventh studio album, and we can't wait to hear their new songs on maximum volume!
