It’s easy to think that the world of celebrity is all fun and games. They just seem to have it all from their good looks and bankable talent–big houses, fancy cars, and huge paychecks to afford a luxurious lifestyle.
But the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Like all jobs, theirs has its pros and cons—the latter of which, is almost never caught on cam. As cliché as it may sound, fame isn’t easy. Our favorite celebs put in crazy hours for their projects, and consequently split their time between the job they love and the people they love. There’s more work to it than people realize.
This Labor Day, we honor some celebs whose erratic schedules and multiple projects continue to pay off in their own ways. Whether it’s in the realm of fitness, being a working student or parent, taking multiple projects at once, or just having your family depend on you financially, they’re great reminders of just how fulfilling it can be to work hard.
Raymond Guiterrez. Back in February, the 33-year-old host declared that he was “sick of being fat.” These days, the brother of Richard and Ruffa Guiterrez has been making waves online with his incredible weight loss journey. In just 90 days, the host shed a total of 65 pounds! By consistent workouts with celeb trainer Arnold Aninion, surrounding himself with fitspiration friends, and a revamped diet of mainly on fish, tuna, and veggies, his leaner and more muscular body isn’t just proof of physical strength but mental as well.

Liza Soberano. We all know how tough school gets, with all the homework, tests, and classes it demands. Imagine balancing that on top of a showbiz career! But that’s exactly what Liza Soberano is doing. While filming their blockbuster hit My Ex And Whys, it was reported that the 19-year-old actress had enrolled in Southville International School affiliated with Foreign Universities (SISFU) to fulfill her dream of finishing her studies. And she isn’t alone! Another enrollee of SISFU is none other than on-screen and (rumored off-screen) partner Enrique Gil. Indeed, #LizQuenAreGoals!
Toni Gonzaga. Toni has proven time and again, that she is woman of many hats. On top of her current hosting gig on The Voice Teens, a regular appearance on weekend show Home Sweetie Home, and an upcoming film project with Papa P, Piolo Pascual, the 33-year-old also balances being a supportive wife to film director Paul Soriano and doting mother to their adorable Baby Seve. How she manages to do all that is beyond us.
Daniel Matsunaga. Most of us know him for winning Pinoy Big Brother: All In, his commercial modeling stints, and even his professional sports career in the United Football League. Right now, he’s also one of eight I CANdidates appearing every week on the gameshow I Can Do That. But that’s not everything this 28-year-old has to offer. In between his jam-packed schedule, the Brapanese hunk runs his own businesses, ranging from diet delivery service to a South American restaurant at the Fort, Bonifacio High Street.

Yassi Pressman. In an interview with Magandang Buhay, the 21-year-old actress revealed that she is her family’s breadwinner, and how when she turned 18, she opted not to have a bonggang debut (like most girls) in order to save money. Raised by a single father and with siblings, its really admirable how committed she is to provide for her family. And with FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano's recent announcement of its extended running until 2018, things are only looking up for her.
