Just when you think self-improvement only comes after you’ve seen and done it all or generally at a later time in one’s life, these youngsters prove you wrong. Since Pinoy Big Brother’s (PBB) Big 4 Jimboy Martin, Bailey May Thomas, Ylona Garcia and Franco Rodriguez got out of Kuya’s House, they’ve been living proofs that you can always get something out of anything life throws your way and make it into something positive.
They may have been inside the house for 50 days as though they were sheltered from the world but finding what they took with them outside will simply delight you.
Amusingly coming from the youngest in the group, Bailey, 12, considers himself to be more mature now. He says, “I began to understand maturity… (with) the weekly tasks, I learned how to be more responsible as well.”
Decisiveness amidst Challenges
For Franco, 16, he shares that being inside Big Brother’s house means making decisions. “Dapat maka-gawa po ng decision kahit ayaw mo mag-desisyon. Lalo na un pag no-nominate, sobrang bigat po.”
Ylona, on the other hand, embodies the femme fatale attitude. As young as 13, she already knows her roadmap to success. She firmly believes in staying true to oneself saying “Be yourself. Who cares what other people think? Love your family. Just go for it, go for your dreams, guys.”
Mostly, the one you give to yourself. The oldest from the group, Jimboy, 17, who once was known as the shy one shares his takeaway from his PBB journey. “Tiwala sa sarili, yun mga imposibleng parang di mo kaya gawin… kayang-kaya mo pala.”
While their stay in the house shows kulitan and kilig moments, how they conduct themselves outside Big Brother's house while applying the golden nuggets of wisdom they learned inside would always speak more than what the TV program could ever show. And by the way they answered, it's safe to say these kids have a good head on their shoulder.
