Hot Stuff: 5 K-Drama Actors We Want To See In The Philippines

Korean or K-dramas have always had a large following in most parts of Asia, and because Korean entertainment agencies are firm believers of fan service, the number of actors and actresses' fanmeets in select Asian countries have continuously grown over the years. That's lucky for us Filipinos, because it means we can see our favorite oppas and even get to sneak in some travel time, too!

But wouldn't it be more awesome if we could see our favorite K-drama artists IRL without the hassle of booking plane tickets and putting a dent in our pockets? A girl can dream, so we've listed down some of our favorite actors that we wish to see here in our country. Some of them already have scheduled fan meets in other parts of Asia, so hopefully, their future stops will include the Philippines, too!

1. Gong Yoo

Who wouldn’t want to get a glimpse of the hottest ahjussi in the world right now?! A true Gong Yoo fan would know that he will be holding meet-and-greets in Taiwan on April 29 and in Hong Kong on May 5, but we're hoping against hope that we'd see him visit the Philippines in the future, too! But for now, let's just soak in all the Gong Yoo goodness that his latest drama, Goblin, has to offer.

2. Park Bo-gum

With a face that is as angelic as his personality, Bo-gum is the perfect, sweet oppa that you won't regret falling head over heels in love with! The Love in the Moonlight actor already visited the Philippines in October 2016 for a reward vacation in Cebu (because the drama achieved high ratings when it was airing in South Korea!) but because he's been touring recently around Asia, we'd also love it if he visits a second time to hold a fan meet!

3. Lee Dong Wook

This cutie is known for his role as the Grim Reaper in Goblin, and who would've thought that a dark character could bewitch us so? But don't be fooled by his serious and soft-spoken character in the show, Dong-wookie is actually quite the opposite IRL—he's an adorable goofball who loves doing witty ad-libs in his shows!

Just like Bo-gum, Dong-wook was able to visit the Philippines way way back in 2006 when he was promoting the series that catapulted him to fame, My Girl, (he actually guested in noontime variety show, Wowowee and even met Sandara Park before she debuted in 2ne1!). But with fan meets in Taiwan and Singapore this April and Hong Kong, Indonesia and Thailand in May, we can only hope that he'll consider doing a Philippine leg, too!

4. Nam Joo Hyuk

His role in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo has totally won us (and Lee Sung Kyung, too, apparently!) over. Not to mention, it's pretty easy to fall in love with his striking looks and charm (again, Sung Kyung, you're a lucky girl!). There's no arguing that his fans are increasing in droves, especially here in the Philippines, so it'd be awesome to see him visit the country some time soon.

5. Ji Soo

This Strong Woman Do Bong Soon actor is not just a pretty face—what makes him interesting is the fact that he’s such a well-rounded individual. From aspiring to be a professional Judo fighter to joining a musical and becoming a model and actor, his skills are just as impressive as his good looks.

Most people don't know this, but Ji Soo has actually been to the Philippines a number of times to kickstart his modeling career. In fact, he even starred in a Filipino-Korean indie movie, Seoulmates, that screened in the 9th Cinemalaya Independent Film Fest! With such close ties to the Philippines, wouldn't it be nice if he could come back again and meet his fans? (Hey, maybe he can even bring his best bro Joo Hyuk along!)

There's still so many actors we'd love to see in our country, and with the Korean wave going strong, we're sure that they'd also love to check the Philippines out! What about you? Which actor or actress would you love to see in the country?
