Hot Stuff: Bring The FamBam To Broadway's "Sister Act" Musical With Original Music By Alan Menken

Hot Stuff: Bring The FamBam To Broadway's

Hallelujah, Broadway's Sister Act musical will be in town June 27-July 9 at the Solaire Theater. Audiences, however, shouldn't expect the same music from the Sister Act movie to be found in the Broadway musical. This play has original music and a fun vibe of its own!

Check out this trailer from its UK tour several years back...

Despite being musically different, it is expected to still be an engaging production, reviews say, with music by well-known composer Alan Menken (do The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast ring a bell?) and lyrics by Glenn Slater. The production itself was produced by the movie's original Hollywood leading lady Whoopi Goldberg.

The Broadway Sister Act show is a completely different musical production with the story and characters still hinging strongly on the well-loved movie. Young and old audiences are expected to enjoy the musical since the movie was also a family movie. Here's to looking back on some of our favorite story moments from the Sister Act movie that the musical is based on.

1. When Deloris Van Cartier meets Mother Superior, it's like fire and ice.

2. When the nuns and Deloris hit the streets to make a difference in the community.

3. When Deloris has to clean up after the nuns and do chores within the church.

4. When Deloris first hears the nuns' choir that badly needs rescuing.

5. When Deloris helps shy Sister Mary Robert find her voice.

Tickets for Sister Act the musical are now available via here. Performances for a limited 2-week run from: June 27-July 9, 2017 (Monday - no show, Tuesday to Friday - regular show 8:00PM, Saturday & Sunday there are two shows - matinee at 2:00PM and regular show at 8:00PM, June 28 is the Gala Night).
