Clothes, shoes, accessories, makeup, gadgets, books—name it, the mall has it… but not at all times, actually. Though there are many supermarkets and specialty stores that have gotten into the healthy food trend, it can still be quite challenging to find a really wide variety of fresh, honest-to-goodness organic food in the mall. Most of the time, you’ll have to troop to weekend markets in parks all over the city to get your fill of true blue organic items.
This August though, you can actually squeeze in organic food hunting while doing your regular shopping in the mall. Open every Sunday at the Eastwood Central Plaza, just a stone’s throw away from your favorite retail stores in the mall, is Urban Agriculture: Organic Market which offers a full line of fresh, organic, and sustainable farm-to-market foods from over 30 local farmers and growers (grass-fed and hormone free meats and dairy products, organic deli products, baked goods and pastries, and organically-brewed wines and beers, natural health aids, supplements, beauty products, among others). Here are some of the interesting items we’ve spotted that would be great additions to your healthy kitchen:
Organic coffee and raw honey for more energetic and sweeter mornings.
Biodynamically-grown organic rice in brown, black, and red varieties to round up your meals.
Healthy bread to jumpstart your day, malunggay pandesal.
Top quality vegetables, greens, and fruits for anything and everything.
