It's springtime in other countries but the start of summer is right here in the Philippines! Both seasons highlight attraction like no other part of the year and we've spotted a quad squad of glam gal cuties on campus you ought to know about just a bit more:
1. Sophie Del Prado, UP Diliman, BA Anthropology junior. Hobbies: Cooking, baking, reading, outdoor hiking or camping, and archery or gun shooting when she has time on weekends. / Affiliations: No college orgs yet but Sophie is part of CMLI (Children's Museum and Library, Inc.), a youth leadership org.
Mantra time: "'Adversity builds character.' A lot of what I've been through makes up who I am today, and it keeps me going when I feel I'm hanging by my last thread na [laughs]."
With her part-time model/musician brother Julio Del Prado and that hair update: Sophie lobbed it to a medium cut, but she looks great either hairstyle, long or short, don't you think?
2. Rich Dennis, De La Salle University, BS Advertising junior. Hobbies: Traveling, listening to music, going to the gym, and dancing / Affiliations: Santugon (org and political party)
Mantra time: "Joshua 1:9 'Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.' This is my life verse because it reassures me that I'm not alone and that He will always be with me. It reminds me that God will always take care of me."
3. Bea Venezuela, Ateneo de Manila University, BFA Information Design junior. Hobbies: Writing film reviews, painting and illustration, designing just about anything. / Affiliations: Creative Director for Loyola Film Circle, Illustrator for the GUIDON
Mantra time: "'Continue to insist upon the encounter.' -Vincenz Serrano. It keeps me going whenever I feel down because it gives me hope that there's always something better out there!!"
4. Katie Madrilejo, University of Santo Tomas, BS Nursing freshman. Hobbies: Eating what she cooks, dancing, and playing racquet sports / Affiliations: Mission Youth PH (org)
Mantra time: "Being in the medical field, my favorite quote has to be: 'Student, you do not study to pass the test. You study to prepare for the day when you are the only thing between a person and a grave.' by Mark Reid. I chose this quote because I've noticed that many of us (students), strive so hard for As (high grades). We think more of the numerical numbers. We forget to see the meaning behind what we learn. We forget to see the bigger picture which is to put what we know into action and to create a foundation of hope for those we encounter."
