This month, Star Cinema has finally released two of the most talked about Cinema One Originals Festival entries from 2016: Baka Bukas and 2 Cool 2 Be Forgotten.
Baka Bukas stars Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Louise Delos Reyes, and also marks the feature film directorial debut of Samantha Lee. Jasmine plays Alex, a 20-something lesbian juggling different jobs and struggling with her feelings for her best friend. Louise, on the other hand, plays Jess, who tries to pursue her dreams without losing her sense of self. It’s a film that tackles significant issues with a fresh perspective—complicated relationships and career struggles, as well as a journey of acceptance from friends, family, and themselves.

Through these films, Lee and Vargas offer cinematic experience that's hip, fresh, risky, adventurous, and hopeful.
