Love Actually: Beauty Gonzalez And Norman Crisologo, Redefining Dedication And Commitment

"Given the opportunity, if the time is right, then why not?" This was Norman Crisologo's response when asked regarding wedding plans with Beauty Gonzalez in an interview on Hotspot a few months ago.

Norman meant it when he said he would wait for the right time. That right time happened on the first of March, in Sitio Remedios, Curimao, Ilocos Norte, before commencing an outdoor dinner date with Beauty:

They've been together since 2014 and has been blessed with a little angel, Olivia, and while people have been talking about their eventual engagement, Beauty and Norman remained low-key about their relationship until that memorable night.

Ever since Ellen Adarna introduced Norman to Beauty, it's like everything fell into place for her, from receiving awesome projects to being blessed with a beautiful daughter. Norman, for his part, has constantly assured her of his loyalty. They may have had gotten the order of traditional relationships reversed, but they proved that you don't need documents binding you together to be very loyal to each other.

Here are our favorite lessons from their love story:

1. Love yourself first. When you fall in love, remember to always save some for yourself; better yet, love yourself first and foremost. Beauty learned this important fact after breaking up with Julsar Torres De Guia, her former boyfriend of two years. “Think about yourself, your future, kung anong mangyayari," Beauty said in an interview on Aquino and Abunda Tonight. As fate would have it, Beauty eventually found The One in Norman.

2. Commit fully. When Beauty became pregnant with Olivia, Norman gave Beauty a promise ring, which was initially mistaken for an engagement ring. It served as Norman’s assurance to Beauty that he will be there for her until he dies.

“As much as possible I'll be there whatever time I have. Basta marami pa tayong fun times. Basta, I promise I'll be good," Norman told Beauty via phone patch during Beauty’s guesting on Magandang Buhay.

3. Having a child doesn't have to change your relationship with your partner; if anything, a son or daughter should strengthen your bond. "Everyday is a learning experience. Parang na-discover ko na ang sarap pa lang maging magulang, and ang swerte ko na I can grow old with her and we can learn from each other," Beauty shared in an interview on Magandang Buhay.
