Artistas hook up (in the romantic sense, we mean) with fellow artistas all the time. And it’s almost unsurprising how the rest of us are left to believe that investing in whatever teleserye, reality show, movie, or social media they’re on is the closest we’ll ever get to knowing about their relationships.
Even so, a number of celebs somehow find their partners outside the industry. They meet people whose interests and line of work are far from their own, and somehow not let their differences (professional or otherwise) get in the way of their love for each other.
Today we put the spotlight on the love stories of lucky, non-celebrity guys and the equally lucky, Kapamilya stars whose hearts they stole. Valentine’s Day may be done, but love is very much alive for these three couples.
1. Beauty Gonzalez and Norman Crioslogo ought to thank Ellen Adarna for playing the role of matchmaker. The art curator, who is good friends with Ellen, saw Beauty on a magazine cover and, as if captivated by her namesake, asked Ellen for her phone number. In an interview with Push back when the two had just became an official item, Beauty had nothing but good things to say about Norman. “I’m very happy… he’s a blessing to me kasi when we started the relationship biglang maraming dumarating sa’kin so he’s my lucky charm.”
What followed was, to the public, an unexpected surprise. While taping Ningning, Beauty learned she was pregnant with her first child and quit the show to focus on the pregnancy. The issue was one of rumors, until the actress posted this artsy photo of a very obvious bump. In 2016, the couple welcomed a bouncing baby girl whom they named Olivia.

These days, Beauty is loving every minute that motherhood has brought, especially towards her relationship with Norman. "It was everything I wanted it to be. I’m so lucky sa asawa ko na he’s really nice to me, he’s really [nice] to our daughter. He’s the best husband I could ever have kasi I’m traveling the world with him and our daughter,” she told Push during last year’s press con of Star Cinema film The Third Party. And while they haven’t brought up specific wedding plans just yet, we won’t be surprised if bells start to ring.
2. It all started in Boracay for actress Bangs Garcia and her Filipino-British husband Lloydi Birchmore. In an interview on Magandang Buhay, Bangs revealed that it was Lloydi who went up to her. Sparks must have flown (literally and figuratively) for them; they hit it off instantly, going so far as to talk about life (at a New’s Years party of all places!). And after a year of blissful dating, the two jetted back to Boracay, where he proposed marriage.
When Bangs dropped by the set of Magandang Buhay last year, she called him the “greatest blessing” she’s ever received, and has felt a deeper connection with God since getting together with him. She’s even picked up an occasional (though unintentional) British accent when speaking English! In January they announced on Instagram that they actually married a total of three (yes, you read that right) times—right under our noses! One was a church wedding, another was a civil wedding in London, and lastly, one beach wedding where they first met. Indeed, the two make for ulitmate #couplegoals and, obviously, #bodygoals.

3. How do you find true love when your whole life everything you do has been (and is continued to be) scrutinized by the public? Fortunately for host, actress, and humanitarian KC Concepcion, this dilemma is a thing of the past as she has finally found what seems to be of the forever kind with former Philippine Azkals National Football Team captain Aly Borromeo. As ABS-CBN News wrote, the rumors about them dating began when KC was spotted going to Aly's football games. And on Tonight With Boy Abunda, KC’s half-sister, Cloie Syquia-Skarne, confirmed their official coupledom.
The pair has since travelled around the world hand-in-hand (they’ve been to Hong Kong, Paris, and Japan). They’ve even introduced each other to their respective families. We only wish the best for these lovebirds, and can’t wait to see what or where else their blossoming love takes them next!
