What was the girls’ itinerary like so far? It’s been an eventful couple of weeks for the girls. Here’s what they’ve been up to since landing in Manila. All that’s left now is the Grand Coronation.
January 12 – Expected start of arrival of candidates
January 15 – Terno fashion show in Vigan
January 16 – Visit to Manila
January 17 – Visiting the oldest city in Cebu
January 18- Strawberry picking in Baguio
January 19 – Trip to Davao & beachwear photo shoot in Batangas
January 26 – Preliminary competition

When and where is the Grand Coronation scheduled? The Grand Coronation will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on January 30, 2017, Monday, 8 AM. (Philippine standard time)
Who are this year’s hosts? For the Grand Coronation, Steve Harvey (yes, the same man who hosted last year’s pageant), will once again take the stage. Accompanying him is plus-sized model and body positivity advocate Ashley Graham, who will host backstage. Venus Raj and Bretman Rock will host pre-pageant segments, on the red carpet.
Can I still vote for the Top 12? Voting period runs from January 23–29. There are four ways in which fans can vote, namely the Miss U App, the Vodi App, the Miss Universe official website, and Twitter. You can visit the official site for more in-depth mechanics.

What’s the elimination process like? Out of the 86 contestants, 12 will be selected as semi-finalists for the Grand Coronation. They will be chosen based on a series of interviews, a swimsuit and evening gown competition, as well as online fan voting.
Come January 30, the Top 12 will model once more, before the judges, in swimsuits. From there, 9 will be selected to enter the evening gown competition. Only 6 out of the 9 will make it to the Final Question round, wherein a judge will ask them questions regarding the countries they represent or on world issues.
The Top 3 will then move on to present their final look. Afterwards, the next Miss Universe will be crowned.
