Wondering what the latest trends are now that 2017 has started? Ladies, we’ve got you covered. According to US Magazine Allure’s Seunghee Suh, here are four trends you can rock this new year:
1. Think Pink. We absolutely adore the blush-colored pieces celebs have been sporting! And from the looks of it, the trend will be here to stay. Consider pink accessories to add pops of color to basic outfits, or wear solid pink, head to toe for an ultra-feminine feel.
Pink goes very well with royalty: Miss International 2016 Kylie Versoza, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, and Miss World 2013 Megan Young, all radiant in blush pieces for a photo shoot for their mentor Jonas Gaffud's upcoming book.
2. See Stripes. This beloved pattern is making more rounds this year. The best part? It’s totally wearable! Suh foresees stripes to take over everything from shirts, to sweaters, and dresses.
A piece in graphic black and white stripes like this cropped top on Sofia Andres, is a foolproof way to make a chic statement.
3. Towering Platforms. If 2016 was the year for sneaks, 2017 may just be the year for platforms. Not only will they save you from the pain and stress caused by other high-heel types, but they’ll make you look a lot taller, too!
4. Wide Shoulders. Get ready to cover up in voluminous sleeves and architectural silhouettes. Likewise, if you were obsessed with off-the-shoulder silhouettes last year, wait until you try shoulder pads! Padded pieces have returned and are becoming just as trendy as they were in the 1980s. Broader, covered up shoulders are an effortless way to add a cool, chic vibe to any outfit.
