In Focus: Things You Probably Haven’t Done Yet In The Philippines’ Popular Tourist Spots

Always getting itchy feet? Is your wanderlust never satiated? Can’t blame you. From north to south, the Philippines is littered with scenic tourist destinations. You probably have been to the likes of Baguio, Boracay, and Coron multiple times. But why do we keep coming back to these? It’s because a fresh adventure always awaits—there’s always something new to see or do. If you’re looking for ideas on what else you could try on your next trip to the Philippines’ premier destinations, your itchy feet brought you to the right place.

Boracay – Mermaid Diving

Boracay, renowned all over the world for its white beach and turquoise waters, boasts of a long list of activities you could enjoy during your island respite. But perhaps, here’s the one thing you haven’t done there before: Mermaid diving. Yes, your childhood dream of being Ariel or Dyesebel can now turn into reality! But before you make your own music video of "Under The Sea," you’ll have to undergo a mermaid swimming course—while wearing a stretchable mermaid tail, of course. This isn’t for everyone, but it’s a great workout for little and not-so-little mermaids in training.

Bantayan Island, Cebu – Skydiving

There’s never a drought of tourists in Cebu because of places like dreamy Oslob and Moalboal. But equally as beautiful as the aforementioned locales is Bantayan Island, which sits in the northern tip of Cebu. Boasting of white shores, clear waters, and gorgeous sunsets, Bantayan should be on the bucket list of any traveler. While it’s not that easy to get there, it’s definitely worth the trip. Yes, Bantayan has an airport, but it no longer runs commercial flights—the planes there instead allow you to dive off one! Skydiving, an activity that your mom won’t approve of, is available here for around P20,000. Don’t worry, there will be an instructor harnessed to you, so all you need to do is to close your eyes and scream while you’re experiencing the biggest thrill of your life!

Anilao, Batangas - Manta Ray Dive Wing

Well-known for its top-notch diving spots, Anilao, Batangas is one of the best beaches you can enjoy that’s only a few hours away from Manila. And if you want a different kind of diving experience on your next trip to Anilao, you might want to try the Manta Ray Dive Wing. It’s one of the newest activities you could do here, and also one of the most exhilarating! For 15 minutes, you’ll be gliding underwater like a manta ray, mimicking its movements and all, as you’re holding onto a board that’s being pulled by a jetski. Will you be able to hold on? Only one way to find out!

You may have been to these popular tourist spots around the Philippines before, but you keep coming back because each trip is a #FunnerThanEver experience, just like with the Nestle Drumstick (watch the video below)! In these destinations, there are many layers to be unraveled, giving you new thrills and fresh discoveries each time—again, just like the rewarding experience that is the Nestle Drumstick! May your wanderlust be ever craving for new adventures.
