“When I was six months old daw, in tune na daw ako," shared Janella Salvador to Kris Aquino, recalling her mom, Jenine Desiderio's early stories about her singing voice. One of the first few songs Janella hummed to? The whistle register of Mariah Carey’s “Loving You,” which she demonstrated in a guesting on Gandang Gabi Vice.
Fast forward to 2016, and three Disney singing gigs later, Janella has already impressed many with her stellar vocal range. Genetics aside (both Janella’s parents, Jenine and Juan Miguel Salvador, are singers), Janella is making her own name as the country’s “OPM Pop Sweetheart.” Currently, videos of her performance in the recently-concluded production Tale as Old as Time have gone viral so we just can't help but look back on Janella’s musical journey:
2005: Singing Kitchie Nadal’s “Wag na Wag mong Sasabihin”.
2006: Dedicating a song to mommy Jenine as a surprise guest in one of her concerts.
2013: Singing The Jackson 5’s “I’ll Be There” together with mom Jenine on KrisTV.
2014: Belting out Mariah Carey’s “My All” on Gandang Gabi Vice.

2015: A duet with Marlo Mortel, singing John Legend’s “All of Me” on Gandang Gabi Vice.
