This is not another case of finding that Filipino connection in a success story in the Middle East, but a story to inspire people to never be afraid to dream big.
Almost a year since being named editor-in-chief of travel magazine Xpedition, travel journalist and brand influencer Josh Mangila has been declared “Most Influential Travel Journalist” by Miss European Tourism Association. Even if Josh encountered challenges writing in English for an affluent community in the Middle East, his passion and determination for his craft prove that Filipinos can do anything, no matter how impossible it may look to others. To date, Josh has traveled to 40 countries and 65 cities.
“I am happy that Filipinos are now getting noticed and recognized in the travel and tourism industry and I will surely continue my battle, even in my tiniest ways, to erase racism and stereotypes, not only in the Middle East or in Europe but in the entire world,” Josh said.
Josh’s message tp those who dream of traveling the world? “Traveling should be our right and not our privilege; traveling can open minds and can unite us through a powerful verity that we are all citizen of the world and should be responsible for each other.”
Prior to being awarded by the Miss European Tourism Association, Josh was also awarded “Media Personality of the Year” by The Filipino Times on August 20, 2016 at Boracay Bar, Asiana Hotel, Dubai. Josh will be receiving the “Most Influential Travel Journalist” award in October, during the coronation night of Miss European Tourism in Malta.
