Remember when Sarah Geronimo cheered for Matteo Guidicelli at Iron Man 70.3 last year, and hugged him as he approached the finish line?
Well, there wasn't a repeat over this weekend's 70.3 Iron Man Asia Pacific Championships, as Sarah is abroad for a vacation. Even so, we've all seen on social media just how Matteo and Sarah serve as each other's inspiration to level up their fitness routines.
"I'm happy she's abroad taking a vacation for herself. It's good for her also," he explained to ABS-CBN News on why Sarah was not present this year.
Judging by his neat performance and sheer happiness upon finishing the race, you wouldn't know that he only had two weeks to prepare. “I have to be inspired ‘cause I’m very unfit!” he candidly said in an interview with ABS-CBN Sports. This inspiration (Sarah, of course, even if she's miles away), along with a determined mindset, helped him finish the race:
How has Matteo been influencing Sarah, on the other hand? "I exercise as much as possible. Kasi nakita ko rin po 'yung result, maganda 'yung nagagawa niya sa health ko to improve my stamina and yung endurance ko,” Sarah said in a previous interview.
Among the new exercises Sarah has tried out with Matteo are spinning, archery, and hiking.

"She's starting to be very active now and she's doing sports. It's good therapy eh, it's something to clear your mind off things," Matteo said last year during a Kapamilya Chat session.
