The "neutral" of the print world, stripes match perfectly with other patterns as it does with denim, leather, khaki, and other fabrics. It can, however, be quite challenging to pull off at times—anything too bold might drown you, especially if you're on the petite side. But there's nothing to worry—we've come up with tips and tricks to take this season's most arresting vertical stripe trend to fashion-plate, not prison-mate, status, as worn by your fave celebs:
Liza Soberano. They're slimming, they're elongating, and they're pretty! Show off a touch of skin as you pair them with a crop top (in a solid color) and make sure to finish it off with a sleek hair and makeup look.
Janella Salvador. Piece-on-piece colorblocking may be on its way out, but graphic outfits with solid, wide stripes is still a fun, flattering trend! Cropped and slim-fit pants also help reign things in!
Loisa Andalio. For trousers so graphic, it's important to keep the rest of your outfit in solid colors. Don't be afriad to introduce textures though, like denim and leather.
Chie Filomeno. Add a subtle sexy edge to your style with a stripe on stripe outfit. And the key is to find them in more neutral colors like blacks, metallics, and earth tones.
Kim Chiu. Wide and bright hues are already eye-grabbing on their own, and when they come in stripes, there's a tendency for them to be as loud as a siren. To combat this, pair your striped piece with simple shapes in pale colors, like nude heels and a white top.
