You know how we always tell ourselves, “Okay today is the day! I’m gonna go on a diet!,” but the moment we see food we’re like “Bukas na lang pala,” that’s exactly the case when you walk into this newly opened Vietnamese restaurant in Eastwood city. From the moment you enter, you’ll know that you'll be eating… A LOT.
Annam Noodle bar (known in Singapore and Malaysia as NamNam Noodle bar) takes pride in their MSG-free menu that boasts of quintessentially Vietnamese cuisine. Now if you’re not really familiar with it, Chef Nam Q Nguyen, the founder and managing director of Annam, suggests that you start with the Pho (pronounced as fuh, FYI), the classic bowl of rice noodle soup made of intensely-boiled broth topped with fresh herbs (sounds perfect for the weather, right?). At Annam you can choose from six different flavors of Pho. And if you don’t mind a little bit of spice in your life, I suggest that you go for the Pho with Australian Beef Steak Slices (P320). The broth, with the slightest tang, is really full of flavor, and greatly complements the Australian beef slices that come with it.
But if you really want to stick to your diet and be as pa-healthy as you can be, you may opt for the Green papaya salad with beef jerky, fresh herbs, and peanuts. Papaya (P250) on a salad—interesting, huh? But just because it's healthy, doesn't automatically mean that it tastes bland. On the contrary it actually has so much flavor that you would forget you're having salad.

Once you’re done with your Pho and/or salad and you’re still hungry (no judging) try their Banh Mi or the Vietnamese take on the French baguette, filled with savory meat, or chicken, and hot chilli peppers (P230-P250), among others. If you don't like it spicy, just let them know and they can make some adjustments to suit your liking. After all, as Chef Nam said, "It's really how you [diners] like it, that's important."
Full? Well, there’s always room for dessert. Annam’s range of desserts resembles our own local sweets. Like The Chilled 3 Colour dessert (P150) for example, it looks like Halo-Halo, tastes like Halo-halo except that, its not. It's refreshing, and has the perfect balance of flavors from the sweetness of the milk and all of the other ingredients.
Annam is located at Unit 1880-4 Ground Floor, 1880 Building, Eastwood Avenue, Eastwood City, Libis. Stay updated on the latest Annam news on Facebook.com/AnnamNoodleBar and @AnnamNoodleBar on Instagram.
