The day many a film aficionado has been waiting for is drawing near: The announcement of the nominees of the 68th Emmy Awards. It will happen on July 14 at the Academy’s newly-opened Saban Media Center at the Wolf Theatre, 11:30 a.m. ET/8:30 a.m. PT. The lucky ones who have been given the honor of announcing this year's nominees? Anthony Andersen and Lauren Graham. “We are thrilled to have Anthony and Lauren on board to help kick-off what promises to be an extraordinary Emmy season,” Television Academy Chairman and CEO Bruce Rosenblum said in a press statement.
For those who are not familiar with them, Anthony is best known for his role as Dre Johnson in American sitcom Black-ish, which has earned him nominations including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series at the Primetime Emmy awards.
Lauren, on the other hand, is best known for her role as Lorelai Gilmore in Gilmore Girls, which will be officially returning as Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. In addition to being an actress, she is also a novelist, with her book Someday, Someday, Maybe appearing on The New York Times Best Sellers List.
The 68th Emmy Awards Night will happen on September 18 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
