Aside from being a stellar actress, earning praises for her performance in HBO's Vinyl, Olivia Wilde is starting to prove that she has an eye for directing as well. Her latest project? A music video for iconic funk rock group Red Hot Chili Peppers (RHCP), who has just released The Getaway, their 11th album.
The “Dark Necessities” music video, RHCP’s carrier single for their latest album, talks about the female longboarders of Southern California, along with the band singing the song.
Wilde views this stint as an opportunity to further explore her potential as a director. "I really found it to be a logical way to get your feet wet in directing because it is essentially an exercise in making a silent film. You have to learn how to tell a story without dialogue—that is really essential,” Wilde said in an interview with ET Online.
