Sweet Ecstasy is a hole-in-the-wall burger joint hailing originally from Cubao Expo. It’s for burger-obsessed diners who don’t mind a little grease. It’s not for those who are trying to keep a strict diet. We recommend their Double Cheeseburger and their addicting milkshakes. Our insider tip: They changed their operating hours; you can now have lunch here!

Green Pastures

Green Pastures, a farm-to-table concept restaurant created by Chef Robby Goco of crowd-favorite Cyma, promises to deliver locally-sourced and produced, and wholly organic dishes. It’s for people who love salads and higher quality produce. It’s not for people craving good grease. We recommend their salads, homemade cheeses and juice selection. Our insider tip: Chef Robby constantly updates the menu ‘based on what’s in season, what’s new and what’s fresh,’ hence their menu is stamped with a validity period.

Crisp on 28th is a neighborhood cafe located on the 28th street in BGC created by ‘the fat kid inside’ Erwan Heussaff. It serves all-day breakfast and international favorites with a modern twist from Erwan, presented on beautiful vintage plates. It’s for the health conscious and yuppy crowd. It’s not for people looking to fill up on rice. We recommend the Chipotle Chicken Quinoa Salad and the Bibimbap. Our insider tip: They’ll be releasing a new line of milkshakes soon. Check out their Instagram and stay tuned!

The Farmacy is an old-fashioned ice cream parlour serving ‘a dose of deliciousness’ good for the soul. Opened by the same team behind the popular Wildflour Cafe + Bakery restaurants, they offer a variety of fresh homemade ice creams, coffee, pastries and milkshakes for children and adults to enjoy. It’s for dessert lovers. It’s not for people on a diet. We recommend the Dusty Road Sundae or design your own bowl how you like it. Finish it quick as some say the ice cream melts quick. Our insider tip is to try before you buy so you don’t waste on an order. P.S. Guests from The Farmacy can order from Wildflour Cafe + Bakery, which is right beside it, and vice versa.

Manam Comfort Filipino Cuisine

Manam Comfort Filipino serves the best of Filipino comfort dishes, from classics to twists. It is a homegrown concept from the Moment Group and is said to be the home of the ‘best sisig in the metro today.’ It’s for big groups and is great for family lunches/dinners. It’s not for intimate dates nor is it a quiet nook for studying. We recommend the House Crispy Sisig, Lamb Curry-Kare, Tinapa Rice and Beef Short Ribs Sinigang with Watermelon. Our insider tip: They offer party-size platters for your special events.

Beef Medallion

Niu by Vikings is the newest upscale buffet restaurant in town. It’s a far stretch from the Vikings Luxury Buffet that we’ve become accustomed to. Niu is elegantly designed and spacious with better interiors and a grander 9-station buffet. It’s for families, friends and even couples celebrating special occasions. It’s not for people with small appetites. Our insider tip: Request for their ‘by order only’ list/menu. P.S. It’s Niu as in ‘nee-uh’, not ‘new’.

Pound by Todd English is an old school counter-style burger joint with a 1920s speakeasy vibe. They pride themselves in using the freshest ingredients and making everything in-house, allowing us to experience a serious, fancy upgrade in the Philippines’ burger game. It’s for burger crawlers who are fans of Todd English Food Hall. It’s not for vegans. We recommend the T.E. Crispy Chicken Burger, Amsterdam Burger and Pound Burger. Our insider tip: Try their exclusive Beer Slushies (Asahi and Brew Kettle).

Wildflour Café + Bakery is a bakery at heart that offers international fare and specialty breads and cakes. It’s for people who enjoy breakfast, brunch or lunch in a place that always feels like Sunday mornings. It’s not for office employees who want quick meals. We recommend their grilled cheese salad and soup combo, mushroom salad, pulled pork sliders and their bestselling kimchi steak fried rice. Our insider tip is that except for Podium Mall, all Wildflour branches are open until 4pm only on Sundays. P.S. You can get pastries at 50% off after 7pm.

Todd English offers food from all over the world in an upscale food hall setting. A large restaurant with 9 different food stations, it is branded after American celebrity chef Todd English. It’s for people who like big menus or want to eat in a big group. It’s not for dieters who are vulnerable to temptation. We recommend the two-way duck, Brooklyn meatball spaghetti and their flat breads. Our insider tip: They’re open until 11pm, perfect if you’re getting a late dinner after a movie date.
