Look Up, Step Out: Fall in Love with Japan through Janella and Elmo's Eyes

You've probably already come across the uber kilig teaser of Janella Salvador and Elmo Magalona's new teleserye, Born for You: With no less than music legend David Pomeranz singing the theme song as the premise of the series plays out—"In a world of seven billion people, what are the chances na makikilala mo ang taong nakatakda para sa'yo?" muses Janella and Elmo's characters—how can you not fall in love with it?

But the teleserye is set to make you fall deeper as it tackles love and destiny in the lives of Kevin Sebastian and Samantha Reyes (played by Elmo and Janella, respectively), who are connected to each other by the red string of fate.

Before then, let's all be enamored by the beautiful destinations where Janella and Elmo shot the series (we've also thrown in must-dos in these tourist destinations for your future travels):

Yamanakako lake

Must do: Being the most developed (and the largest) lake out of the five lakes of Mt. Fuji, one can enjoy a variety of water sports, from boating and fishing, to wind surfing, here. Also, a definite must-try are the public baths found within the lake.

Oshino Hakkai

Must visit: Aside from Mt. Fuji’s five major lakes, Oshino Hakkai boasts of eight smaller lakes that are fed from Mt. Fuji’s melted snow. The cool part about these small lakes? The water is so clean, you can drink straight from the source!

Mt. Fuji

Must try: Go paragliding and appreciate Mt. Fuji’s beauty from a different perspective!

How to get there (for Mt. Fuji, Oshino Hakkai, and Yamanakako Lake): From Tokyo’s Shinjuku station, take the JR Chuo line to Otsuki, then from Otsuki, transfer to the Fujikyu railway line going to Kawaguchiko Station.

Must do: Take that ubiquitous Shibuya Crossing photo, and of course, a snap with the statue of Hachiko. Also try to catch a traditional Japanese wedding at the Meiji Shrine, and check out Takeshita street, a haven for streetwear and fashion.

How to get there: From the Tokyo station, take the JR Yamanote line going to Shibuya.
