Our favorite celebrities will surely all agree that their lives wouldn’t be as fabulous and they won’t nearly be able to look uber gorgeous under the limelight, especially for photo and commercial shoots, and red carpet events, if not for their trusted makeup allies—their go-to artists who already know their faces like the back of their hand, and who bring out their most flawless beauty by wielding their brushes, blushes, powders, lippies, and liners. Five of the best artists in the industry were recently honored at the SM Beauty Ball as “Makeover Masters”—and they’re no less than the beloved makeup gurus of Anne Curtis, Jodi Sta. Maria, Jolina Magdangal, and Cheska Garcia-Kramer: Robbie Pinera, Denise Go-Ochoa, Mickey See, and Jigs Mayuga, respectively.
We’re totally lovin’ the looks these experts created for these beauties, and we’re sure you’ll love them, too (plus, we’re packing in some tips to help you recreate them):
Robbie Pinera for Anne Curtis: Sweet and au naturel. The Princess of All Media looked extra glowing, thanks to Robbie’s makeup prowess. He chose a simple no makeup makeup look for Anne, with a pop of color on the lips. Be inspired: Check out those brows! Strategically bushy arches are on trend, so simply lining your brows won’t do—fully utilize the power of the brow mascara.
Denise Go-Ochoa for Jodi Sta. Maria: Bronzed and glowing. Denise complemented Jodi’s blonde hair with an ethereal makeup look—shades of brown, and a mocha-mauve hue on her lips. The makeup maven’s signature doe eyes (which she also does a lot on Kathryn Bernardo) complete with fluttery lashes is also present. Be inspired: Understated lipstick shades need not always be in the neutral category. Soft pinks and mauves with brown undertones are great alternatives.
Mickey See for Jolina Magdangal-Escueta: Old Hollywood glam. Mickey went full on highlights and bold lip for a standout evening look. Liza Soberano and Janella Salvador’s go-to artist beautifully married contouring and strobing in this look. Be inspired: Highlight away—as long as you do it on all the right places (cheekbones, Cupid’s bow, temples, tip of nose).
Jigs Mayuga for Cheska Garcia-Kramer: Vintage beauty. Jigs took the earthy tones route as well, but set it apart in a major way by creating statement arches on Cheska, which perfectly framed her doll-like features. This look by the beauty columnist and Saddle Row Cycling Studio part-owner is one that can take you from day to night. Be inspired: Always make sure your brow game is on point by using products that are two to three shades lighter than your hair color (looks much more natural!).
Ting Duque for Denise Laurel: Easy glamour. The model-turned-makeup artist transformed Denise into an effortlessly glamorous version of herself by way of intense smoky eyes coupled with glossy lips and on fleek contouring and brows, of course. Be inspired: Keep in mind the rule of proportions: If you go heavy on the eyes, pair it with subdued lip color; if a statement pout is your thing, subtle eyelining or cat eyes will do.
