She was an early favorite at this year's Binibining Pilipinas pageant, and how could she not be? Maxine Medina's credentials alone (she's one of the top models in the country, among others) indicate that she'll be able to represent the country well in the international arena; her smarts, grace, and charm during the pre-pageant festivities and the pageant itself, though, showed that there's so much more to her than her statuesque good looks—she's the real thing.
This time, we show you a different side of Maxine, or Maxx, as she's known to her close friends: Her beach babe alter ego.
Maxine loves to travel spontaneously and loves the fact that the Philippines is a tropical country and home to thousands of islands and beaches. If only it was possible, she would explore each of the 7,107 islands of our country to marvel at the beauty of each place. Ask Maxine about her perfect beach vacation and she will answer dreamily: “My perfect beach vacation is spending a typical day at the beach, watching the sunrise, listening to the sound of the sea, enjoying the cool breeze on my skin, while having a cup of coffee in the morning.” The way she describes it is like she’s just been in paradise. Lucky for her, she recently just did.
A couple months ago, Maxine went to El Nido, Palawan, where her perfect beach vacation became a reality. For her, El Nido’s sunrise is majestic and a gift from God, and she's proud that one of the best and most famous beaches in the world can be found right here in the Philippines. She highly recommends that we explore our own beaches first before venturing into other territories. With 7,107 islands to choose from, it will surely not disappoint.
She has been to numerous beaches around the country and as a legitimate golden-skinned beach babe, these are her beach essentials and must-haves:
A sack bag – A girl’s gotta have her things packed well even while at the beach.
Sunscreen – For a golden tan, go for at least SPF 30. For a darker more bronze color, get SPF 4.
Sunglasses – You don’t want to be squinting all day, so get a good pair of shades that can block out UV rays.
Towel or sarong – You need the perfect sarong to lay down on while enjoying the view and getting a tan.
Tumbler – The sun can really get you dehydrated. Bring your favorite drink with you, preferably, non-alcoholic.
Camera – Have a good camera that can capture the beauty of the place and to document the experience and life-long memories.
