The Six Fix: These Resorts Redefine It's More Fun in the Philippines with Their Breathtaking Beauty

1. Siama Hotel

Design characteristics: This hotel’s nature-inspired architecture that blend elements of wood, glass, and concrete seamlessly makes its visitors feel like they are staying in the middle of the forest. Owned and designed by Milo Naval, the fusion of indigenous materials with man-made materials (the nipa hut was a source of inspiration for Naval) gives the hotel a rustic contemporary feel. Those staying in Naval's resort masterpiece should try out the rattan pedicabs, and not miss striking a pose at the large hammock adorning the hotel's salinated pool.

Notable guests: Fashion designer Rajo Laurel and events manager Robby Carmona

Head over to: Sitio San Lorenzo, Bibincahan, Sorsogon City, Sorsogon. Contact or +63917-8816497 or +63998-9828101.

2. Acuatico Beach Resort

Design characteristics: The Rommel Dionisio-designed resort’s standout feature is its infinity pool, which has an exquisite granite stone tile flooring, set against the backdrop of the lovely Batangas sea. The resort also takes inspiration from Balinese design and used organic materials for the pavilions found within the compound. It's not a surprise that this place is a popular choice when it comes to wedding venues and prenup shoot locations!

Notable guests: Radio DJ Chico Garcia, Vina Morales

Head over to: Laiya, San Juan, Batangas. Contact or +632-8927577 to 79 or +632-8690236 or +63927-6807835 or +63939-9548463 or +63928-8543849.

3. Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar

Design characteristics: This location feels like a literal time machine, as its buildings faithfully resemble the Spanish mansions and stone houses during the Spanish occupation, characterized by the use of solid stone foundations, tiled roofs, floors made out of wood, and capiz shells for its windows. What makes this area unbelievable is how they transplanted these houses from various locations around the Philippines, and reassembled piece by piece, until the transplanted houses are fully restored back to their original glory.

Notable guests: Diego Loyzaga, Sofia Andres, Julia Barretto

Head over to: Las Casas Road, Bagac, Bataan. Contact or +632-3325338, +632-3325286, +632-8774501, or +632-8774502.

4. Camp Netanya

Design characteristics: Camp Netanya’s overall design closely resembles Santorini, Greece, an island that is much-loved by tourists for its beautiful landscape. Those visiting this place will be in awe of its nautical theme, with its predominantly white and blue interiors, the brick roofs of the villas, and the way the villas are placed in a slope, just like in Santorini.

Notable guests: It’s still relatively new (they are undergoing renovations), but we will not be surprised if celebrities would start flocking here!

Head over to: Brgy. Ligaya, Anilao, Batangas. Contact or +63927-9148143.

5. Balesin Island Club

Design characteristics: You will feel like you're traveling around the world in this private, members-only island, as it has several villages that closely resemble well-known destinations around the globe, which include Balesin, Bali, Phuket, Mykonos, St. Tropez, Costa del Sol, and Toscana. Each village faithfully recreates their respective themes, from architecture and interior design, to landscaping.

Notable guests: Cristine Reyes and Heart Evangelista had their weddings here.

Head over to: Balesin Island, Polilo, Quezon. For membership inquires, contact them at +632-9989521 or +63917-8825742.

6. Flotsam and Jetsam Hostel

Design characteristics: Any art-loving visitor would appreciate how colorful this hostel is. From the pretty hanging light fixtures, colored windows, and interiors that resemble those cute designs from Pinterest, this hostel is definitely a haven for hipster artists who are in search of inspiration. In fact, this hostel became a source of inspiration for a movie bearing the same name (check out the trailer to the movie here).

Notable guests: Solenn Heussaff, Kim Jones, Jericho Rosales

Head over to: Surf Town, San Juan, La Union. Contact them at or +63917-8021328.
