Look Up, Step Out: The Iberian Peninsula in All Its Picturesque Glory

Look Up, Step Out: The Iberian Peninsula in All Its Picturesque Glory

What’s better than Spain and Portugal combined? Well, having actor Joseph Marco in it. Since his successful television show Pasion de Amor wrapped up, he finally had the time to go on a much-deserved break. His getaway destination of choice? The Iberian Peninsula.

A region separated from France by the Pyrenees Mountains, the Iberian Peninsula covers three countries: Andorra, Portugal, and Spain. While Joseph missed Andorra in his vacation, the lovely sights he visited in Madrid and Lisboa certainly made up for it.

Here are fun things you can do when you pay these cities a visit:

Take a tram. We don't have trams in the Philippines so it's always a fun experience to try another country's mode of transportation.

Ride their own version of Tuktuk. Like Joseph, you'll be pleasantly surprised when you get for yourself a lady driver.

Stop and appreciate art. Not necessarily the only ones you find in museums—you can also find them when you allow yourself to get lost in the streets.

Surf’s up in Nazaré Beach, Portugal. Catch the big waves at this surfer's paradise. And when you can't, well, you can always find a viewdeck and take nice photos from there.

Appreciate architecture and history in Palacio de Cristal, Spain. Found in Madrid's Buen Retiro Park, this beautiful structure made of glass and metal is truly a definite must-see.
