Make Pink Makeup Work For You

Make Pink Makeup Work For You

The Mean Girls wore pink on Wednesdays, but for the rest of us, pink is the ultimate glow enhancer any day of the week. Case in point: Two of today’s most beautiful faces in showbiz, Coleen Garcia and Maxene Magalona. At the M.A.C is Beauty collection launch, they rocked pink in different shades and different ways, all of which you can try yourself. Take your pick: Coleen’s shimmery pink lids paired with peachy pink blush, or Maxene’s bold pink lip complemented by subtle wing tips on the eyelids?

Coleen Garcia

The Pasion de Amor star went the sweet and sassy route by swiping on a light pastel pink-lilac shadow with just a hint of shimmer. The result? Wide-awake eyes minus the effort. Tip: When it comes to choosing your eyeshadow, pick one that’s just a shade, or at the most two shades, darker than your skin tone—anything too light will just blend into your complexion and disappear, while a shade too dark will not help you achieve the desired effect. What you want is to look as fresh-faced as Coleen, not end up channeling a punk rocker who has a fascination with fuchsia.

Maxene Magalona

She has tried on so many faces, literally, for Your Face Sounds Familiar, but this time, Maxene opted to just highlight her lips with a candy-colored lippie (the shade she has on is called Silly from the M.A.C is Beauty collection). If you think a bold shade of pink is hard to pull off, it’s time to reconsider: Though red is a more conventional choice, bold pink lip color is a more fun and youthful alternative. Tip: Bright pink lipstick is your best bet when wearing a casual outfit and you want to glam up but not look intense.
