For anyone who has seen Enchong Dee's newest music video "Telenobela" and has since been wondering where it was shot, ask no further! The said music video showcased a picturesque view of Canada, Victoria BC (British Columbia)... just look at how spectacular the sceneries are!
But trekking to the other side of the world can be very expensive. So to lessen your expenses when you get to Canada, we give you some of the tourist spots in Victoria BC that you can enjoy with less than $5 (that's more or less P250)—and most for free, actually.
Inner Harbour. This famous cruise ship destination is at the heart of Victoria. The view of the boats and ships in the morning and the gleaming lights of Fermont Empress Hotel at night make for a full day of sightseeing fun. Oh, and going around the area won't cost you anything.
Hatley Castle. This building which served as a dormitory of cadets is now an administrative center of Royal Roads University, where the school's President and other staff members live. Its neo-baroque structure is a must-see spot. If you want to visit the gardens, you have to prepare at least $10. But remember, strolling within the vicinity is always free.
Fisgard Lighthouse. For less than $4 dollars for adults and $2 for teens (that's more or less P200 and P100, respectively), you can already check out this spectacular place frequently visited by seals and sea lions. Its aesthetic and historical value can compete with the lighthouses in Batanes.
Brandywine Falls and Bungee Bridge. This breathtaking view is just one of Victoria’s falls. It’s just one hour and 40 mins away from Vancouver.
Capital Region Natural Parks. The Capital Region District has 33 accessible regional parks that tourists could visit. They offer a variety of free events that run throughout the year. Juan de Fuca Provincial Park and Goldstream Provincial Park are open all throughout the year and the admission is free! If you want to bask in the presence of the ever famous maple leaves, you shouldn make time to walk through these parks and experience Canada's flora and fauna at its finest, at less cost.
